making snow angels

Trying to bring family back together and getting used with weather change: From +32 to -22

Last days of the February were quite cold. The temperature was around -20 and later when read the news it was mentioned that when to take the wind in consideration then the actual temperature was -31 (whatever that means. My phone showed -22, so no idea how the weather guys calculated the -31).  While dressing  my kids on the coldest morning I was bit worried how they will handle they will handle the weather cos first years they had lived in West Africa where the temperature is slightly warmer :). And now we had to manage will the climate of north Europe So I kept explaining them why we are putting so many jackets and why we are hiding the face inside scarf – “Its really bad cold outside” I kept repeating.

Winter fun

When we finally reached out my 3 year  old half-Arab daughter walked few steps and announced “Its not bad weather at all. Its very friend weather – I want to make snow angles!”

But cos I had to go to work we did not have any time to make snow angels and had to rush to kindergarten.  We passed a neighbor who had troubles starting his car due to the cold. But we had no worries – we were moving on sledge 🙂

Later I spoke to my husband who is still in Africa but is planning to join us in Estonia soon. I told him about the weather and his daughter plans to make snow angels :). Hahahaa he is enjoying now the outside temperature around +30 and hearing about our -22 he thought there would not be any flight. Of course it was said with joke – but I perfectly understand his wish to wait for bit softer weather cos he was suffering here already when the temperature was around 0 degrees of Celsius.

Life in Estonia and future plans

We have had this visiting kind of marriage now for 2 years. I came from Africa with kids to Estonia and the plan was that after I will find job here my husband will follow. This way there is always one income guaranteed. I knew it will be much easier for me to find job here that for my husband who is from different culture (and not from very loved culture here) and does not speak the language.

I found job actually very fast but somehow my family expenses have always been bigger than my salary we have not been ready to take the risk of my husband dropping his job in Africa and moving permanently to Estonia. We know it will take for a while before he will find a job here and at that time we would need to depend on one salary. But so far always help from his side has been handy. I have needed this help literally every month.

This year we want to focus on the plan to bring family back together – which means I have to cut down some of the costs or find some extra income. Changing job would not help much cos I am living in small city and actually the job I have now has quite good salary. There would not be much options for higher income (from one position) in my city.

so thinking thinking thinking….exploring business options for my husband here and thinking…… by all means I am staying positive and I know we will figure smth out!
